The Konica AR 4/65-135mm zoom lens with  similar focal length as the late 3.5/50-135mm lenses from Canon, Minolata and Nikon. Its focal lengths and speed are also somehow reminescent of the later 75-150mm lenses. All these lenses pretty soon made room for the classical 4/80-200 tele lenses, whichlater on became 4/70-210 and 2.8/70-200mm telezooms. Since the Ar 4/65-135mm is nearly as big and heavy as the later AR 4/80-200mm zoom, its quite clear why this sort of short telezooms was disapperaring quickly.
